How to sell with CustomCat without losing returns
CustomCat's Detroit setup is simple. The expensive part is what happens when a return or cancellation reaches the wrong system.

Use CustomCat for a US-first apparel or merchandise store that wants one production base instead of a supplier network. Its current public material places ordinary production and shipping in Detroit.
For overseas buyers, price the exact international route before using the same listing in every country.

Start with manual review. A cancellation inside CustomCat does not refund the customer in the storefront, and an order already in production can still leave the product cost payable.

Connect one store and add billing
Use Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce, or start with a manual order. Confirm the saved payment method before publishing.

Set the return route
Add a valid US return address in the store settings and write the buyer-facing return policy. Do not let ordinary returns travel to the Detroit facility.

Build one exact product
Choose the blank, color, size range, artwork, and shipping destination. Remove variants that you have not priced or cannot support.

Sample, publish, then review
Order that exact product to yourself. If it passes, publish it and inspect the first live orders before enabling automatic processing.

Run these checks with one exact product and destination:
- Compare the exact variant on Lite and Pro. Calculate how many monthly orders repay Pro's subscription.
- Add product, decoration, shipping, checkout tax, store fees, discounts, and a replacement reserve.
- Keep enough cash to cover CustomCat before a marketplace payout reaches the bank.
- Price the Detroit-to-overseas route separately from the US version.
- Use the published production time as an estimate, not the buyer's delivery promise.

Order the version a buyer will receive, then record the result:
- Check the blank brand, fabric, color, size, measurements, and original garment label.
- Inspect print placement, fine lines, opacity, edges, and color on the chosen garment color.

- Read the shipping label. Check that the parcel is plain, then verify the store name and return address.

Where CustomCat leaves the work with you
CustomCat does not currently offer custom neck tags, labels, packaging, or inserts. Orders use plain white-label packaging, while garments retain the blank manufacturer's original labels.
The merchant handles buyer returns. CustomCat says it can replace a verified production defect after receiving photos, but wrong sizes, colors, designs, and other user errors are generally excluded.
Native TikTok Shop fulfillment is still described as a limited beta. CustomCat's current live-production route uses TikTok Shipping through Order Desk or an approved API setup.

Is CustomCat free to use?
CustomCat Lite is free. CustomCat Pro currently costs $30 per month or $300 per year, while Enterprise pricing is negotiated.
Does CustomCat connect to Etsy and Shopify?
Yes. Its direct integration page also lists WooCommerce and BigCommerce. Manual orders, CSV uploads, API orders, and Order Desk are available for other workflows.
Where does CustomCat make its products?
Ordinary catalog products are printed and shipped from CustomCat's Detroit, Michigan facility. Price international delivery separately before using the same listing abroad.
Can I order a CustomCat sample without a store?
Yes. You need a CustomCat account, but you can create a manual sample order, enter your own payment method, and ship the exact product to yourself.
Does CustomCat handle customer returns?
No. You handle the buyer and the return. CustomCat can replace qualifying production defects, but products returned to its facility are donated and ordinary buyer or merchant errors are not covered.
